Terms, Conditions & Usage Policy
This is the agreement between you and SlingLab for using the site. See also Legal & trademarks for publisher attribution and the cookie notice.
Last updated September 4, 2026.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, playing as a guest, or otherwise using SlingLab, you agree to these Terms, Conditions & Usage Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
SlingLab is an independent, fan-made playtesting tool, currently in pre-alpha. Features, and these terms, can and will change as the product develops; see "Changes to these terms" below.
2. Eligibility
SlingLab is intended for players 13 years of age or older, matching the general age recommendation for the trading card games it supports. You confirm you meet this minimum age when you complete account setup.
If you're old enough to use SlingLab where you live but your local law sets a higher minimum age for agreeing to terms like these on your own, please have a parent or guardian review this policy with you first.
3. Accounts
You can sign in with Google, Discord, or an email/password, or play as a guest with reduced functionality. You're responsible for whatever happens under your account, so keep your credentials to yourself.
One account per person. Accounts are personal and non-transferable, and SlingLab may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms (see "Termination" below).
4. Your content
Decks, deck notes and descriptions, chat messages, and uploaded artwork (card sleeves, playmats) stay yours. By posting or uploading them, you give SlingLab the license needed to host, store, display, and transmit them as part of operating the site (for example, showing your deck to opponents at a table, or your sleeve art on the board).
You're solely responsible for anything you upload or post, including that you have the right to use it. SlingLab may remove content or revoke a user's ability to upload it at any time, including where it's illegal, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate. Uploads are also automatically scanned for disallowed content before they go live.
Comments, deck descriptions, and chat messages are user-submitted and don't represent SlingLab's views.
5. Custom card art standards
Custom card art is player-uploaded artwork attached to a specific card, shown to other players at the table by default. It's automatically scanned before it can go live, and specifically may not contain: explicit nudity or sexual content; hate symbols or imagery; graphic violence or gore; or anything depicting a minor.
That scan is automated and imperfect: it can wrongly block legitimate art (a false positive) as well as wrongly allow something it shouldn't. If a genuine upload gets blocked, you can attest that it doesn't violate the standards above, which publishes it immediately rather than holding it for review. A false attestation, whether or not the art itself turns out to violate these standards, is itself a violation of these terms and can lead to account action, separately from whatever happens to the upload. Attested uploads are logged for admin audit and can be taken down after the fact the same as any other content.
None of this changes who's responsible for what you upload (see "Your content" above): passing the scan, or attesting past a block, doesn't mean SlingLab has verified you have the rights to the art. Custom card art can still be removed and reported like any other content on the site.
6. Site rules
Play fair and be decent to other players. Specifically, don't: cheat or exploit bugs to gain an unfair advantage; harass, threaten, or hatefully target other players; upload illegal content or content you don't have the rights to; impersonate SlingLab staff or other players; or attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or abuse the service (including scraping it at scale or attacking its infrastructure).
The full, up-to-date site rules are posted in the #rules channel on our Discord: https://discord.com/channels/1526027645052125424/1540005824460755005
Violations can lead to a warning, a kick from a table, a report, or account suspension/termination, at SlingLab's discretion and proportionate to what happened.
7. Monitoring and enforcement
To keep the site running and enforce the rules above, SlingLab logs game activity (match outcomes, which cards were played, table chat, and similar gameplay data) and stores room and direct-message chat. This is the same data that already powers your own game history and deck stats.
Staff can review a room's chat and game activity when investigating a player report or a suspected rule violation (including reports auto-filed by a successful kick vote). We don't proactively watch every match; review happens in response to a report or a concrete signal something went wrong, not as constant live surveillance.
This monitoring is separate from, and not affected by, whether you've accepted analytics cookies; see the cookie notice below. It's part of running the game itself, not ad tracking.
8. Data shared with Commander Bracket (MTG only)
SlingLab partners with Commander Bracket (commanderbracket.app) for deck power-level analysis. Separately from that, SlingLab shares anonymized, aggregated Magic: The Gathering match data (for example, which cards showed up together and how games with a given deck archetype tended to play out) with Commander Bracket, to help train and improve their bracket, deck-health, and archenemy scoring models.
This sharing is limited to Magic: The Gathering; it doesn't apply to other game families on the platform. Data shared this way is anonymized and aggregated before it leaves SlingLab; it isn't tied back to your account or username on Commander Bracket's end.
Commander Bracket is a separate company with its own privacy practices, which SlingLab doesn't control. See their site for details on how they handle data once they have it.
10. AI-translated content
SlingLab's interface in languages other than English, and any in-app chat translation, is produced by AI rather than human translators. Machine translation can get things wrong: mistranslations, awkward phrasing, or lost nuance are all possible, especially for rules text and card names.
English is the source language and the authoritative version wherever precision matters; if a translation seems off, check the English text.
11. Other third-party services
SlingLab relies on third-party providers to operate: cloud hosting and storage, OAuth sign-in (Google, Discord), transactional email delivery, and card-data sources like Scryfall, among others. Using SlingLab means your data may pass through these providers as part of normal operation; each has its own terms and privacy practices.
12. Intellectual property
SlingLab's own software, design, and branding belong to SlingLab. The card games it supports belong to their respective publishers; see the trademark & attribution notices on the Legal page for the specifics of what SlingLab is, and isn't, claiming rights to.
13. Disclaimer of warranties
SlingLab is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. As pre-alpha software, expect bugs, downtime, and breaking changes. We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SlingLab and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data (such as decks or game history) or interrupted matches.
15. Termination
You can stop using SlingLab at any time. SlingLab may suspend or terminate access for violating these terms, at our discretion, with or without notice depending on severity.
16. Changes to these terms
SlingLab may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "last updated" date below; continuing to use SlingLab after a change means you accept the updated terms.
